Equine Physiotherapy

Horses have to undergo a lot of work that they are not necessarily designed to undertake, such as carrying a rider. This may cause pain and discomfort throughout the back muscles. It may also cause an existing injury to worsen due to the added pressure of a rider.

Veterinary physiotherapy, alongside other professionals (the vet, farrier, chiropractor, saddler and others) will work together to be able to improve the overall ability of your horse.

Equine physiotherapy will use a range of rehabilitation techniques to relieve any pain and discomfort with your horse, allowing for a happy horse with improved performance! With the use of a physiotherapeutic programme, we will aid in the quick and efficient recovery of a variety of issues and conditions. This includes:

  • Behavioural concerns- bucking and rearing up whilst riding may be your horses' way of telling you they are in pain.

  • Weight loss

  • Kissing spine

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Laminitis

  • Relieve pain and discomfort

  • Increase athletic ability and fitness

  • Strengthening and building muscle

Equine physiotherapy sessions will be mobile and therefore will be carried out in your own yard. This means your horse will feel more comfortable being in its own surroundings.

If you think your horse requires a physiotherapy appointment or if you have a query, do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.
